Most of the time, these files will use very little space and won’t cause a problem. Erase an application and it will leave preference files left over in your Library folders. The above method doesn’t actually erase an application’s preferences. For example, try to move the Chess app to the trash and you’ll see a message saying, “Chess can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by OS X.” How to Remove Left Behind Files 7.1: Cleanest UNINSTALL and PHOTOSCORE.Note that you can’t remove built-in applications by doing this. 7.1: UNinstall previous versionS - Pilotone Music, 19 Apr 05:32PM Posted by Pilotone Music - 21 Apr 02:25AM Select the Folder/Drive you'd like to check duplicates on in the left-hand column, otherwise Whatsize will check for duplicates on your whole Hard Drive, which could take hours (unless that's what you'd like, of course). If you right-click, you can "Select all duplicates" as in the screenshot, but I purposely have back-up and integral duplicates so I prefer to check the file path and toss the duplicates out manually, instead of trashing directly from the Whatsize program itself. Posted by Pilotone Music - 19 Apr 08:40PMįor finding/removing duplicate files (and knowing what is taking up the most space in your Hard Drive, usually: movies, sound files, and items that are stored in the (separate) trash bin of a program, that need to be trashed from the program itself), I recommend "What Size": 7.1: Cleanest UNINSTALL and PHOTOSCORE uninstall? I have learned from previous experience, unless I am absolutely sure it is something I don't need (or, I am in a gambling mood), to leave things behind on the computer that are infinitesimally small, rather than delete something necessary for the operation of my more important, daily-used programs. for important programs like Sibelius, I generally go into the applications folder and trash anything in the Sib 4 and 5 Folders. The danger in trashing these things is that you must always check what any trashing program is trashing, so a program that has a continual series like Sebelius 1-7, isn't losing something essential to it's operation. Will all previous files be imported into the new version automatically?ģ. Should I uninstall all previous Sibelius versions? And if I do:Ģ. I'm not finding anything about the necessity of UNinstalling previous versions first, although PhotoScore's installer warns that I am to UNinstall the previous version BEFORE installing the new version. I've finally upgraded to Sibelius 7, and PhotoScore Ultimate 7. 7.1: UNinstall previous versionS - Bob Zawalich, 19 Apr 06:09PM
